Answer:

The correct answer is:

Supplies water through tiny holes in plastic tubes, so the amount of water delivered at any time is very small. (C.)

Explanation:

Drip Irrigation is a type of irrigation system that delivers water to the plant roots directly or indirectly in minute quantities at a time. Like the name implies, the waters drips onto the plant roots either by a delivery system setup on the soil surface, or on delivery systems installed below the soil. It is a micro-irrigation system, and aims at reducing water wastage as well as preventing leaching.

The drip irrigation system is made up of some essential components no matter the design, and these components include:

a. Pump: the pump is the origin of pressure from which water flows to the delivery system to the plants.

b. distribution lines: this are channels through which water from the source gets to the plants.

c. Pressure control: this is a point in the system where the pressure is adjusted

d. emitters or dripping devices: these are made up of tiny apertures serving as outlets through which water drip out.

There may be other additional components, but these are the mahor components.

There are several advantages to using drip irrigation in addition to the ones mentioned above and these include:

1. reduces soil erosion

2. reduces weed growth

3. can be used on non leveled fields

4. fertilizer wastage is minimized

5. cost of labor is comparatively reduced

6. because of the low pressure, the energy cost is reduced.

The disadvantages include

1. clogging can occur because of low pressure

2. the irrigator does not see the amount of water applied in subsurface designs, so too little or too much water may be applied etc.

Answer:

This question is incomplete, because there is no picture, but I attached one, related with the question. The correct answer Trade winds are shown as number 1.

Explanation:

Trade winds and permamnet winds which blow between Tropic of Cancer, Equator and Tropic of Capricorn (which is between 30 degrees N and 30 degrees S.

These wind always flows from Tropics towards the Eqautor, because around the Eqautor is permanent low pressure area, and around the Tropics is permanent high pressure area. Air always flows from high pressure towards low pressure area.

Due to Earth's rotation trade winds curve a little bit, a they become prevailing Northeasterly Trades (in Northern hemisphere) and Southeasterly Trades (in Southern hemisphere). Earth rotates in west-east direction, and that is the reason for their deflection.

Trade winds got their name in the Age of Discovery (14-15 century) when sailing around the world and explorations were very common. Explorers find out that in specific regions exist winds with permanent direction. That was very importnant in the Middle Ages, so explorers always followed their patterns. Term '<em>trade</em>' is actually from Middle English and it means '<em>track</em>'.
