MArishka [77]

Answer:

Answer: One of Caesar's best qualities as a leader was his ability to connect with his men. Reportedly, he knew his centurions by name and made the effort to develop personal relationships with them. He also trained with them, which was a way he created rapport with his troops.

With 1988 a presidential election year, and many current high school students preparing to vote for the first time, what are the qualities you look for in a presidential candidate?

Maybe I am a dreamer, but I am looking for a presidential candidate with the charisma of John F. Kennedy and the honesty of Abraham Lincoln. America needs a presidential leader who will stress the importance of solving the drug problem and making education a top priority.

A presidential candidate would get my vote if he took a strong stand on crime. Drugs are a serious problem in the United States. The future of our generation is "scary" unless we get it under control now.

What best characterized kuala lumpur a little more than a century ago? view available hint(s) what best characterized kuala lump
Tasya [4]
I would say it's that Kuala Lumpur was the largest predominantly Chinese city on the Malay peninsula.

Kuala Lumpur is not on the coast. In colonial times Port Swettenham, about 40 miles southwest of Kuala Lumpur, served as the main port. Today that location is still the main gateway port for Malaysia, but is known as Port Klang.

Kuala Lumpur was a British colonial administrative center (not French).

"More than a century ago" is ambiguous.  If we go back to the 1880s, that's when Kuala Lumpur's growth was picking up.  The town went from a population of around 4,000 in the early 1880s to 20,000 in 1890.  By 1920, the population was 80,000.

Chinese settlers were a large factor in the population growth of Kuala Lumpur.  British colonial administrator Frank Slettenham referred to it back in the 1870s as "a "purely Chinese village."  The Chinese population remains strong in the area today.  As of 2015 statistics, persons of Chinese ethnicity make up 39% of the population of Kuala Lumpur.
