X=20, or x=23,or x= 16

x could equal anything 15 or higher

28 + x > 42

Remember, (x) could be any value that when added to (28) is more than 42.

x = 80

x = 20

x = 30

So, basically any number that is more than 15 works, because when a number greater than 15 is added to 28, it is more than 42!

Vertex is now at (-1,5)

for
y=a(x-h)^2+k
vertex is (h,k)
so veertex is (-1,5)

y=a(x-(-1))^2+5
y=a(x+1)^2+5
a is a constant, we will asssume that it is 1 because all the choices have 1

y=1(x+1)^2+5
y=(x+1)^2+5

Label the vertices A (- 3, - 2), B (- 7, - 3 ), D (- 4, - 5 )

and the centre of dilatation C (- 7, - 6 ), then

CA = a - c = < - 3, - 2 > - < - 7, - 6 > = < 4, 4 >

CA' = 3 < 4, 4 > = < 12, 12 >

A' = (- 7 + 12, - 6 + 12 ) = ( 5, 6 )

CB = b - c = < - 7, - 3 > - < - 7, - 6 > = < 0, 3 >

CB' = 3 < 0, 3 > = < 0, 9 >

B' = (- 7 + 0, - 6 + 9 ) = (- 7, 3 )

CD = d - c = < - 4, - 5 > - < - 7, - 6 > = < 3, 1 >

CD' = 3 < 3, 1 > = < 9, 3 >

D' = (- 7 + 9, - 6 + 3 ) = ( 2, - 3 )

Summarising

(- 3, - 2 ) ⇒ (5 , 6 )

(- 7, - 3 ) ⇒ (- 7, 3 )

(- 4, - 5 ) ⇒ (2, - 3 )
