During the Reconstruction period, the rectification of amendment proceeded so that African Americans could live their life with freedom and equal as the whites. Rectification of the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments happened that allowed slavery to abolished, the right to vote, and equal rights in the United States for African Americans.
