1 way (without equation)

Kathy counts in total 9 goats and sheep at the petting zoo. Her brother counts 4 goats. Then if you subtract the amount of goats from the total amount, then you obtain the amount of sheep.

9-4=5 is the number of sheep at the petting zoo.

2 way (with equation)

Let x be the number of sheep at the petting zoo. If brother counts 4 goats, then the total number of animals is x+4. Kathy counts in total 9 goats and sheep at the petting zoo, then x+4=9.

Solve this equation:

x+4-4=9-4,

x=5.

3 way (with equation)

Let x be the number of sheep at the petting zoo. If total number of animals is 9, then the amount of goats can be found as 9-x. Brother counts 4 goats, then

9-x=4,

9-4=x,

x=5.

Answer: 5 sheep.

Identify the biggest perfect square for 75
mr_godi [17]

Answer:

We just multiply 75 with 3 to make it a perfect square. This is because, 75 = 5 × 5 × 3. 3 doesn't have a pair. Thus 75 × 3 = 225 and √225 is 15.

The principal of a high school spent 1700 for X desk each and Y chairs at $25 each if he had bought half the number of desk in t
KatRina [158]

Answer:

25X + 25Y = 1700

25X + 100Y = 3200

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that the principal of a high school spent $1700 for X desk and Y chairs at $25 each. Then, the equation will be

25X + 25Y = 1700 ....... (1)

If he had bought half the number of desk in twice the number of chairs he would have spent 1600. That is

25(X/2) + 25(2Y) = 1600

25X/2 + 50Y = 1600

Find the LCM and cross multiply

25X + 100Y = 3200 ........(2)
