By definition, the formula for finding the area of a trapezoid is
 A = [(b1 + b2) x h] / 2
 Where,
 b1: Base 1
 b2: Base 2
 h: height, or distance between bases.
 Substituting we have:
 A = ((5 + 4) * (2.5)) / 2
 A = 11.25 feet ^ 2

A billiard ball is struck by a cue. It travels 100 cm before ricocheting off a rail and traveling another 100 cm into a corner p
Airida [17]

Answer:

76.53 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question, the triangle formed has 2 sides and an included angle ;

Angle, θ = C = 45°

We use cosine rule :

Taking the side to find as c

a = 100 ; b = 100

From cosine rule :

c = sqrt(a² + b² - 2abCosC)

c = sqrt(100² + 100² - 2(100*100)Cos45

c = sqrt(10000 + 10000 - 20000 * 0.7071067)

c = sqrt(20000 - 14142.135)

c = sqrt(5857.865)

c = 76.536690

c = 76.53 cm

The cost of admission to the state fair changed from 8.50 last year to 10.00 this year.round to the nearest tenth show your work
Nitella [24]

Answer:

A. What is the percent of change from last year to this year.

Answer: The percent of change from last year to this year is:

\frac{10.00 - 8.50}{8.50} \times 100

\frac{1.50}{8.50} \times 100

17.65 \%

Therefore, the percent change from last year to this year is 17.65%

B. Is this a percent increase or decrease?

Answer: This is a percent increase.

C. If you have 25% off coupon to use on 10.00 ticket what is the cost?

Answer: The 25% of 10.00 is given below:

\frac{25}{100} \times 10.00

0.25 \times 10.00

2.5

Therefore, the cost is:

10.00 -2.5 =7.5

 Julian is making barbecue sauce to can. He uses 15 cups of tomato sauce, 6 cups of white vinegar, cup of honey, and cup of map
Advocard [28]
STEP 1:
Add up all cups of ingredients

=15 + 6 + 1 + 1
= 23 cups of ingredients

STEP 2:
convert cups to quarts
4 cups= 1 quart

=23 ÷ 4
divide total cups by # of cups in 1 quart

= 5 quarts (with 3 cups left)

STEP 3:
find number of pints with 3 cups left
2 cups= 1 pint

= 3 ÷ 2
divide total cups left by # cups in 1 pint

= 1.5 pints

*Add the number of pints in step 3 to the number of quarts in step 2.

ANSWER: He can fill 5 quarts and 1.5 pints.

Hope this helps! :)

Write 45/72 in the simplest form
Oliga [24]
Hi!

In my opinion, the easiest way to solve a problem like this is to find the greatest common factor (GCF) of the numerator and denominator and then divide both numbers by the GCF.

So first we need to find the factors of 45 and 72 and find the factor that has the most value that the two numbers both have.

45: 1, 3, 5, 9, 15, and 45

72: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 12, 18, 24, 36, 72

It looks like the GCF is 9. Now we have to divide 45 and 72 by 9.

45 ÷ 9 = 5

72 ÷ 9 = 8

So the correct answer should be:

\frac{45}{72} =  \frac{5}{8}

Hope this helps :)
