The Aztec Empire was set around the 15th century until European expansion arrived in America, and the largest city state of that empire was built on an island in the <em>Valley of Mexico</em> on former <em>Lake Texcoco</em>, nowadays only ruins remain from that city, abode of the Aztec King, named <em>"Tenochtitlan"</em>, which means <em>amid the cactus rocks heart; the ruins are in Mexico City.</em>
