Answer:  A species which can reduce itself and oxidize others

Explanation: In a Chemical reaction, there are two species- one is oxidizing agent and the other one is reducing agent.

Oxidizing agent is the substance which reduces its electrons and oxidizes the other species.

Reducing Agent is the substance which oxidizes itself and reduces other.

Zn^{2+}(aq) +  Cu(s) \rightarrow  Zn(s) + Cu^{2+}(aq)

In this reaction, Zn 2+ is getting reduced in Zn and oxidizing Copper thus acting as an Oxidizing Agent .

And Cu 2+ is reducing itself and oxidizes Zn thus acting as Reducing agent.

A disadvantage of sexual reproduction is that
sineoko [7]
The disadvantage of sexual reproduction is that outside influences can determine the viability of the offspring. In humans, for example, a failure for a mother to consume an adequate amount of folic acid is directly linked to neural tube birth defects. This defect occurs at the earliest stages of development, often when a woman doesn’t know she is pregnant, which means the folic acid must be consumed when attempting to conceive.

What product(s) (excluding stereoisomers) is/are formed when y is heated with br2?
KatRina [158]
When the molecule undergoes chlorination with Cl2 on heating, the hydrogen atom of the alkyl group is replaced by the chlorine atom and form chloroalkanes. The molecule X containes three types of alkyl halides, therefore three different types of chloroalkanes are formed by the replacement of hydrogem atom linked to these alkyl groups. Thus the three different types of chloroalkanes are formed - primary, secondary, and thertiary chloroalkane. Chlorination is not selective so a mixture pf products results. The products formed by the reaction of the molecule with Y with Cl2 are shown on the attached file.

If a 40 g sample of NaCl is composed of 39.34% Sodium, how many grams of<br> that sample are Sodium?
alina1380 [7]

Answer:

15.7g

Explanation:

mass percent=mass of element/mass of compound *100

39.34=unknown(x)/40g×100

39.34=5x/2

multiplying both sides by 2,we get

5x=78.68

devide by 5 on both sides

x=15.74g Na
