Symbolism in women by alice walker

I've never read this but I can tell you what to look for. Symbolism in literature is using a phrase or word to represent something totally different. It can sometimes be called "hidden meaning". It is usually a meaning that doesn't meet the eye but is very important to the story the author is telling.

They went shopping to Next _____ Gap. (Have to put a linking word.)
torisob [31]

Answer:

The correct answer is AND.

They went shopping to Next AND Gap

Explanation:

In this sentence, the word 'and' acts as a linking or a transition word. Transition words are part of the English language (and many other languages) that help to establish a connection and continuity between two pieces of text.

They cans also be described as a a 'bridge' between two parts of a sentence.

Some other transition words including

 • Also
 • Like
 • As well as
 • Likewise

etc.

In other languages e.g. in Urdu/Hindi, the equivalent of 'and' is the word 'aur'
