Her sister invited 22 guests. What you have to do to solve this problem is subtract 41-19. We have to do this because Rayliegh invited 19 more people than her sister, but invited a total of 41 people herself. So, to figure out how many people her sister invited we have to know that Rayliegh invited 19 more people and we have to subtract that from the total number she invited to get how many people her sister invited: 22 guests. For one toss of a certain coin, the probability that the outcome is heads is 0.6. If this coin is tossed 5 times, which of the f
pishuonlain [190]

Answer:

The probability is 0.33696

Step-by-step explanation:

The probability that the outcome will be heads x times is calculated using the following equation:

P(x) = nCx*p^{x} *(1-p)^{n-x}

nCx is calculated as:

nCx=\frac{n!}{x!(n-x)!}

This apply for variables that follows a binomial distribution. In which we have n independent and identical events with two possibles results: success and fail with a probability p and 1-p respectively.

So, In this case, n is equal to 5, and p is equal to 0.6 because we are going to call success the event in which the outcome of the coin is head.

Then, the probability that the outcome will be heads at least 4 times is calculated as:

P = P(4) + P(5)

Where P(4) is:

P(4) = 5C4*0.6^{4} *(1-0.6)^{5-4}

P(4)=0.2592

And P(5) is:

P(5) = 5C5*0.6^{5} *(1-0.6)^{5-5}

P(4)=0.07776

Finally, the probability is:

P = 0.2592 + 0.07776

P = 0.33696

For all values of x<br> f(x) = 3x + 2<br> Find f-¹(-12)
Novosadov [1.4K]

Answer:

-4.67

Step-by-step explanation:

first find f^-1(x)

let f(x)=y

y=3x+2

3x=y-2

x=y-2/3

Therefore f^-1(x)=x-2/3

Now f^-1(-12)=-12-2/3

=-14/3

=-4.67

An investment of $900 earns 6% annual interest and is compounded semi-annually. Write an equation
nalin [4]

Answer:

A=900(1+\frac{0.06}{2})^{2(t)}

Step-by-step explanation:

Lets use the compound interest formula provided to solve this:

A=P(1+\frac{r}{n} )^{nt}

<em>P = initial balance</em>

<em>r = interest rate (decimal)</em>

<em>n = number of times compounded annually</em>

<em>t = time</em>

First, change 6% into a decimal:

6% -> \frac{6}{100} -> 0.06

Since the interest is compounded semi-annually, we will use 2 for n. Lets plug in the values now and your equation will be:

A=900(1+\frac{0.06}{2})^{2(t)}
