What genre do you think define the metamorphosis and why

Answer:

Realistic fiction

Explanation:

Even if realistic fiction is the genre where maybe Metamorphosis can be classified, the genre of this work is not so easy to determine.

The work is a mixture of various genres, but in the end, it is not completely representing neither of them.

The story is based on realistic elements, where people, details, and appearances are presented in a very realistic way.

However, there are elements of surrealism, where fantasy and reality are mixed. It is not sure if we are seeing reality while reading it or fiction, as the line that separates reality and dreams is very thin.
