Answer:

During photosynthesis the tree while convert the energy from sunlight into sugar (glucose). The xylem will transport the water to the leaves. The phloem will transport the glucose. The energy from sunlight will also be used to convert water and carbon dioxide into oxygen and glucose. Hence, the energy stored within the glucose/sugar molecules will be used to help the tree grow.

When the environment condition is changed, the organism need to changes too. If the organism reproduced asexually, their genetic material of the offspring would be identical without change. This makes asexual reproduction couldn't produce a different offspring.
Sexual production will produce a various genetic material that might turn the changes into beneficial condition.
