Y=4x−9;y=x−3

Solve y=4x−9 for y:

Substitute (4x−9) for y in y=x−3:

y=x−3

4x−9=x−3

4x−9+−x=x−3+−x(Add -x to both sides)

3x−9=−3

3x−9+9=−3+9(Add 9 to both sides)

3x=6

3x/3=6/3(Divide both sides by 3)

x=2

Substitute (2) for x in y=4x−9:

y=4x−9

y=(4)(2)−9

y=−1(Simplify both sides of the equation)

y=-1

x=2

Need help due friday
Ronch [10]

Answer:

C. f(x) = 40(1/4)^x

Step-by-step explanation:

Check all the options:

When x = 0

A. f(x) = 1/4(40)^x

f(x) = 1/4(40)^0

f(x) = 1/4(1)

f(x) = 1/4

When x = 0

B. f(x) = 1/2(40)^x

= 1/2(40)^0

= 1/2(1)

f(x) = 1/2

When x = 0

C. f(x) = 40(1/4)^x

= 40(1/4)^0

= 40(1)

= 40

When x = 0

D. f(x) = 4(1/3)^x

= 4(1/3)^0

= 4(1)

= 4

A model of a skyscraper is made using a scale of 1 inch: 75 feet. What is the height of the actual building if the height of the
Vaselesa [24]

Answer:

145.5 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

Since 1 inch = 75 feet, we can use this same equation and mutliply 19.4 inches on both sides:

1(19.4) = 75(19.4)

We can than simplify both sides to find our answer:

19.4 = 145.5

And don't forget to identify the unit:

145.5 ft (feet)
