How do enzymatic catalysts increase the rates of reactions?
dsp73
For a reaction to occur, substrate particles need to collide with each other with enough force (To overcome activation energy), at the right orientation for a successful collision, causing a reaction to occur.

Enzyme catalysts are a type of protein that has a specific 3 dimensional conformation. They have specific reaction sites called active sites. Substrates collides with the enzyme and binds to the active site if it fits to the specific 3 dimensional conformation. This allows bonds to be either formed or broken for reactions to occur.

This process provides an alternative reaction pathway with lower activation energy to enable the rate of reaction to increase.

Which of the following statements regarding absorption of monosaccharides is TRUE?
Otrada [13]

Answer:

A. Not all monosaccharides are absorbed by active transport is the correct answer.

Explanation:

  • Monosaccharides are simple sugar.
  • Glucose, galactose, and fructose are examples of monosaccharides.
  • They are the building blocks of disaccharides and polysaccharides.
  • Monosaccharides function is to produce energy.
  • Not all monosaccharides are absorbed by active transport because monosaccharides(galactose, glucose) are transported in the epithelial cells through protein carrier by secondary active transport and Fructose passes and absorbed entirely by facilitated diffusion.

Write a paragraph or two to explain why there is little change in the pH of battery acid when it is diluted with water
3241004551 [841]
Battery acid is acidic in nature so its pH will be more.if we add a base its acidity level decreases and it becomes a poor acid. here water acts as a base to decrease the pH value and acidic nature of a acid substance that is battery acid.
