Given y < 4x – 6, explain how to graph this and decide whether or not (– 1, 5) is a solution to this inequality

Mathematics

svp [43]3 years ago
4 0

the point (-1,5 ) is NOT a solution to the inequality.

There are three steps in graphing an inequality:

Rearrange the equation so "y" is on the left and everything else on the right.

Plot the "y=" line (make it a solid line for y≤ or y≥, and a dashed line for y< or y>)

Shade above the line for a "greater than" (y> or y≥)

or below the line for a "less than" (y< or y≤).

Now to solve this, graph the line y=4x-6

Lets use the point (0,0)

0<-6, is NOT true

So we shade everything to the left of the line y=4x-6

Hope that helped.

A manufacturer of tablets receives its LED screens from three different suppliers, 45% from supplier B1, 30% from supplier B2, a
Shalnov [3]

Answer:

a) 0.83 = 83% probability that a LED screen will meet specifications.

b) 0.2892 = 28.92% probability that a LED screen that meets specifications was sent by the second supplier.

Step-by-step explanation:

Conditional Probability

We use the conditional probability formula to solve this question. It is

P(B|A) = \frac{P(A \cap B)}{P(A)}

In which

P(B|A) is the probability of event B happening, given that A happened.

P(A \cap B) is the probability of both A and B happening.

P(A) is the probability of A happening.

45% from supplier B1, 30% from supplier B2, and the rest from supplier B3.

So 100 - (45 + 30) = 100 - 75 = 25% from supplier B3.

a) Find the probability that a LED screen will meet specifications.

95% of 45%(supplier B1)

80% of 30%(supplier B2)

65% of 25%(supplier B3). So

p = 0.95*0.45 + 0.8*0.3 + 0.65*0.25 = 0.83

0.83 = 83% probability that a LED screen will meet specifications.

b) Calculate the probability that a LED screen that meets specifications was sent by the second supplier.

Conditional probability.

Event A: Meets specifications.

Event B: Sent by second supplier.

0.83 = 83% probability that a LED screen will meet specifications.

This means that P(A) = 0.83

Meets specifications and is sent by the second supplier.

80% of 30%, so

P(A \cap B) = 0.8*0.3 = 0.24

Probability:

P(B|A) = \frac{P(A \cap B)}{P(A)} = \frac{0.24}{0.83} = 0.2892

0.2892 = 28.92% probability that a LED screen that meets specifications was sent by the second supplier.

Cylinders A and B are similar solids. The base of cylinder A has a circumference of 4pi units. The base of cylinder B has an
Wittaler [7]

Answer:

d) 9/4

Step-by-step explanation:

<u><em>Explanation</em></u>:-

Given circumference of cylinder A = π r² = 4π units

Given circumference of cylinder B = π r² = 9π units

The  dimensions of cylinder A are multiplied by \frac{9}{4}

   circumference of cylinder A = π r² = 4π(\frac{9}{4}) units     = 9 π units

circumference cylinder A= 4π(\frac{9}{4}) units = 9 π units = circumference of cylinder B

<u><em>Final answer</em></u>:-

<em>The dimensions of cylinder A are multiplied by 9/4  produce the corresponding dimensions of cylinder B</em>

20 POINTS!!!!! Can someone please explain linear equations and functions and anything I may need to know about them to take a qu
Scrat [10]

Step-by-step explanation:

A linear function is an algebraic equation in which each term is either a constant or the product of a constant and (the first power of) a single variable. A function is a relation with the property that each input is related to exactly one output. A relation is a set of ordered pairs. Tips for a quiz is watch a yt video about it and also search it up to do some reading. You can ask me some questions but I'm not really good at these things.
