Why is random sampling prefered in psychological research?

English

A random sample is a subset of individuals that are randomly selected from a population of interest. Because researchers usually cannot obtain data from every single person in a group due to time, costs and other constraints, a smaller portion is randomly chosen to represent the entire group as a whole. The goal is to get a sample that is representative of the larger population.

How does including this excerpt at the beginning of the essay contribute to his arguments impact
Vadim26 [7]
The answer is option D "It introduces a problem that the essay will attempt to solve." Using context clues you would find out that the first paragraph is addressing a problem. Which would make this a explanatory essay which is a essay that gives key details about a certain time in history and how the issue (problem) was solved. So the rest of the excerpt would most likely include details about the problem and how it was solved.

Hope this helps!
