The rise of the English language is a remarkable success story. When Julius Caesar landed in Britain over two thousand years ago

, English did not exist. Five hundred years later, Englisc, incomprehensible to modern ears, was probably spoken by about as few people as currently speak Cherokee. Nearly a thousand years later, when William Shakespeare was in his prime, English was the native language of between five and seven million Englishmen, but it still had a severely limited influence on the world.

What is the rhyme scheme of this excerpt from Wordsworth's, "Three Years She Grew?"
photoshop1234 [79]

The correct answer is b. aabccb. "Three years she grew in sun and shower" is a poem composed in 1798 by the English poet William Wordsworth. A rhyme scheme is the pattern of rhymes at the end of each line of a poem or song. Most of the times, letters are used to indicate which lines rhyme; lines designated with the same letter all rhyme with each other.
