Thermohaline circulation between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans is a kind of a scale ocean circulation that is created by heat and freshwater fluxes. The Atlantic Ocean has colder waters than the Pacific Ocean. Besides, the Atlantic water are salty.

Thermohaline circulation occurs because the temperature of the Pacific Ocean is high near the equator and the seawater is less saline. Meanwhile, the Atlantic Ocean is colder and more saline. As water in the Pacific Ocean heats, it expands and causes nearby water to start flowing.
