Answer:

B

x = 3 and y = -4

Step-by-step explanation:

to solve this simultaneous equation  we adopt the substitution method

we say that let

3x – 4y = 25

....................... equation 1

3x + 2y = 1........................... equation 2

from equation 2

3x + 2y = 1........................... equation 2

3x = 1-2y

divie both sides by 3

3x/3 = (1-2y)/3

x =  (1-2y)/3...................................... equation 3

put x = ( 1- 2y)/3  into equation 1

3x – 4y = 25 ..................... equation 1

3( 1 -2y)/3 - 4y = 25

1-2y - 4y = 25

1 -6y =25

-6y =25 -1

-6y = 24

divide both sides by the coefficient of y which is -6

-6y/-6 = 24/-6

y = -4

put the value of y = -4 into equation 3

x =  (1-2y)/3...................................... equation 3

x = ( 1- 2(-4)/ 3

x = 1 +8 /3

x = 9/3

x = 3

therefore the value of x = 3 and y = -4 respectively

The probability that it rains in London on any particular day is 0.3.
SpyIntel [72]

Answer:

It is 14.45 percent .

Step-by-step explanation:

Explanation:

The first day is independent from the day before. Therefore the first day probability (of rain) is 20 percent.

The second day (depends on the previous day) rainfall probability is 85 percent.

Finally, the third day (it must be rainy to satisfy the total probability) rainfall probability is 85 percent.

The probability of having three consecutive days which are rainy:

P(all rainy)

=

0.20

×

0.85

×

0.85

=

0.1445

or 14.45 percent.

what does it mean by "determine the equation of a line that passes through the given point. First find the slope" someone please
gtnhenbr [62]

Answer:

y=-3x-1

Step-by-step explanation:

The mistake that was made was in the denominator of the work. The second 2 should be the -1. This is what you should get:

\frac{-7-2}{2-(-1)}

\frac{-9}{3} =-3

Hope that clear things up.

The sum of three numbers is 131. The second of three numbers is seven more than twice the first. The third number is 12 less tha
Norma-Jean [14]
First number is (x).
Second number is (2x+7).
Third number is (x-12).
Their sum is  (x+2x+7+x-12).
x+2x+7+x-12 =131

You can simplify this equation
4x-5=131,

4x=136
x=136/4=34 (first number),
(2x+7)=34*2+7=75 (second number)
34-x=34-12 =22(third number)

Check: 34+75+22=131
