we are given that the English Aplhabet has 26 letters. we let g represent the number of letters in the Greek alphabet. From the statement given, English alphabet which is 26 = 20 + 1/4 *g. The expression which is similar to this is in option A. 1/4g + 20 = 26.

1. The great pyramid at Giza is the largest pyramid in the world, the area of its square base is 52,441 m squared, what is the l
AlladinOne [14]

Answer:

The length of each side of the base is 229\ m

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The area of a square is equal to

A=b^{2}

where

b is the length side of a square

In this problem we have

A=52,441\ m^{2}

so

substitute in the formula

52,441=b^{2}

Square root both sides

b=\sqrt{52,441}\ m

b=229\ m

Can someone please explain how to do this.
lutik1710 [3]
Set the to equal:

x^2 - 4x+4 = 2x-4
 solve for X

subtract 2x from each side:
x^2 -6x + 4 = -4

subtract 4 from each side:

x^2 -6x = -8

add 8 to both sides:

x^2 -6x +8 = 0

factor the polynomial:

x = 4 and x = 2

using the line equation replace x with 2 and 4 and solve for y

y = 2(2) - 4 = 0
y = 2(4)-4 = 4

so the 2 points the line  crosses the curve is (2,0) and (4,4)

using those 2 points you can calculate the length:
 distance = sqrt((x2-x1)^2 +(y2-y1)^2

distance = sqrt( (4-2)^2 + (4-0)^2)

distance = sqrt (2^2 + 4^2)
 distance = sqrt (4+16)
= sqrt 20
= 2 sqrt(5)  EXACT LENGTH
