The correct answer is D: Mandela concluded that protestors must consider violence as a response to violence on the part of the government.

Nelson Mandela reacted to the Sharpeville massacre when he concluded that protestors must consider violence as a response to violence on the part of the government. The massacre in Sharpeville resulted in the killing of 69 demonstrators and injuring of over 300 others when the Afrikana police deliberately shot protestors outside the police station in a hail of submachine guns. After this incidence Nelson Mandela the Apartheid leader was convinced that his non-violent approach was not working; thus he resulted in organizing small paramilitary groups to fight the South African Apartheid regime which was racially segregated. This resulted in his arrest and jailing for 27 years.

Which african country was most successful at remaining independent? west africa algeria ethiopia sudan?
Rom4ik [11]

Ethiopia. It was never truly colonized by any other country, although it was briefly occupied by Italians in the mid-1930s to the early 1940s. They have always been successful in fending off European conquerors because the people fought hard to defend their country.
