Answer:

Three important Events

Just learning of her birth, it made Gabrielle begin to question her being. Could her real parents have also had her unique ability? What will she do from now on with her family? This is the first of things that cause her great stress. Even before the war she is confused with herself, how can she handle her father dying in the war as well?

The news that Féolan gave to the higher ups of Verdeau is the building block to the whole novel. All of the events after Féolan gave his news happened because he did so. In effect, the King decided to prepare for war to resist against the Greffaires' attack. Had he not given information to the King, the Greffaires would have easily taken over the Verdeau kingdom. This news had forced Verdeau to ask the elves of Stonewater to assist, making a bond between humans and elves, this bond being the first in centuries. The bond allowed Gabrielle to enter Stonewater without being questioned. In Stonewater, she learned that she was an elf herself, a vital part in the novel as well.

With Gabrielle's truth finally discovered, she becomes very confused. Now that she knows she is an elf as well, is happy to know that she can spend more time with Féolan. Still, she has to make a hard decision: Should she stay in Stonewater as Twylar? Or should she return to Verdeau as Gabrielle? Holly Bennett keeps us wondering when Gabrielle says she's returning home. How will that affect Gabrielle in the following novel?

Kites: Birds of Glory
Margaret [11]

Answer:

The idea that kites are skillful fliers is all throughout the text. Both in comparison and in contrast with birds, the author develops the concept of a kite as if an actual living bird, and as one, it has its own skills and characteristics.

Explanation:

The text begins with a general overview on raptors, and then he says: "The most glorious feathers of the peacock or the vibrant plumage of a bunting cannot compete with the power of a peregrine falcon or the determination of an osprey. Included in this group of hunters, however, is one bird of prey that is little known but equally impressive. The kites of the world are generally smaller than most raptors, but just as astonishing in skill and grace as any other hunter of the skies." Here, we have the very first moment in which kites are seen as skillful fliers.

Then, he/she goes on with its characteristics and the author itself states that "kites are generally masterful in the air and represent a group of birds that are among the most acrobatic of fliers." To continue with this idea of kites as living birds, the author claims "if you are lucky enough to see one in flight, you will be amazed at the quick turns, graceful moves, and speedy pursuits of this bird". With this, he/she's comparing a situation which sightseers are very familiar with: the difficulty of seeing the most majestic birds. "Look for them above large fields, especially during the summer" completes this concept by giving you the place where you can find them, because he/she knows they are graceful and you should not miss them.

Finally, the author gives us the idea of kites being like birds when he describes them physically and compares them with "common birds" which cannot catch their preys while flying: "Both kites are known to eat while flying, unlike most other birds of prey. This practice conserves energy and allows them to hunt almost continuously".

What do you think is Anne’s purpose in keeping a detailed diary while in seclusion and hiding from the Nazi’s?
JulijaS [17]

Answer:

Anne's purpose in keeping a detailed diary while in seclusion was to alleviate boredom.

Explanation:

To be put into hiding for as long as Anne and her family would have been tedious and boring at the same time.  With only the few people she saw everyday, she would soon grow bored of the whole situation.  Since she could not go outside, she kept a diary of her thoughts, fears, and dreams to see into her inner self possibly to look back on when she was free or to share with other survivors.

Answer: There should be no apostrophe before the S in 'content's'

Explanation: Because the content does not belong to anyone, and from the word 'are' we can tell that content will be plural, so the correct answer should be "contents are flammable".
