Answer: D. He sent in troops

Explanation: President Dwight Eisenhower was an American army general and statesman who served as the 34th president of the United States from 1953 to 1961. On September 4, 1957, the first day of classes at Central High, Governor Orval Faubus of Arkansas called in the state National Guard to bar the black students' entry into the school, which was against the Supreme court ruling that schools be desegregated and that the black students be given access to the school and the education they wanted.

When Governor Faubus ordered the Arkansas National Guard to surround Central High School to keep the nine students from entering the school, President Eisenhower ordered the 101st Airborne Division into Little Rock to insure the safety of the nine black students, restore order and uphold the rulings of the Supreme Court.
