Shelly just completed her Master’s in Business Administration. She was at the top of her class. Shelly was offered a job in lots

of leading firms in the city, but she decided to follow her love of sports and apply for a position with her local professional sports franchise. When she applied for a vacant sales manager position, she was refused the job and instead offered a job as a secretary of the sales manager. This was a gross waste of her immense talents and skills.
In the above scenario, Shelly is a victim of
discrimination.

Answer:

Yes. We can agree on the statement that suggests Shelly is a victim of discrimination. Especially, gender discrimination.

Explanation:

Gender discrimination means treating differently and biased based on the gender of a person. in this case, we can see that it has happened because Shelly is a girl.

The job role of secretary has traditionally been stereotyped as a role for "Women" and most of the managerial positions are traditionally perceived to be "male dominant" and not for females.

In this scenario, although Shelly is more than qualified to become the sales manager of this organization, she is not given that position and is given a lesser position that doesn't require much skills.

Looking at it from a logical perspective, we can say that this is mainly due to Shelly being a woman and the administration of this organization thinks that a woman should be a secretary of a manager rather than becoming the  manager.

Progressivism dbq where will you put your million dollars answers
lyudmila [28]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Unfortunately, it seems that something is missing here. "Progressivism, where will you put your million dollars answers?" is the section of the examination, but it is not a specif question.

So what is what you want to know?

However, trying to offer some help, we can comment on the following.

Progressivism was the period in the history of the United States during the end of the 1800s and the beginning of the 1900s, in which many social leaders demanded changes to the consequences of the industrial era and exposed the ways fabrics and industries exploited workers and children. It also was a time when "muckraker" journalists exposed the corruption of the federal government. It was a true time of changes in America.

Those progressive leaders and their ideas made the government to create the kind of legislation to change things for the better in the country.

Suppose that the bankruptcy law firm had previously loaned $20,000 to Henry Anderson. The law firm filed a financing statement s
pantera1 [17]

Answer: This loan would would have priority over the other unsecured claims in this bankruptcy case.

Explanation:

Since the trucks are secured collateral the loan is a secure loan. It will be the priority in the bankruptcy case since the other claims were unsecured. The law firm would have a right to the trucks since he owed them 20,000$ and put them up as collateral.

Everything that was an unsecured loan does not have anything to take from and will be a loss for the other companies who filed against Henry Anderson.

Daniel [21]

Answer:

A) $0

Explanation:

If the award was unsolicited and given to Joan in recognition for her accomplishments in scientific, educational, literary, religious, artistic, or civic fields, then the award is not taxed.

The unsolicited part is the key here, since most awards are given to candidates that have been previously been nominated by someone, e.g. Nobel prizes are only given to nominated candidates and the winners must pay income taxes.
