Shelly just completed her Master’s in Business Administration. She was at the top of her class. Shelly was offered a job in lots

of leading firms in the city, but she decided to follow her love of sports and apply for a position with her local professional sports franchise. When she applied for a vacant sales manager position, she was refused the job and instead offered a job as a secretary of the sales manager. This was a gross waste of her immense talents and skills.
In the above scenario, Shelly is a victim of
discrimination.

Answer:

Yes. We can agree on the statement that suggests Shelly is a victim of discrimination. Especially, gender discrimination.

Explanation:

Gender discrimination means treating differently and biased based on the gender of a person. in this case, we can see that it has happened because Shelly is a girl.

The job role of secretary has traditionally been stereotyped as a role for "Women" and most of the managerial positions are traditionally perceived to be "male dominant" and not for females.

In this scenario, although Shelly is more than qualified to become the sales manager of this organization, she is not given that position and is given a lesser position that doesn't require much skills.

Looking at it from a logical perspective, we can say that this is mainly due to Shelly being a woman and the administration of this organization thinks that a woman should be a secretary of a manager rather than becoming the manager.

ValentinkaMS [17]

Answer:

The correct answer in this case is option a. or to facilitate a company's shift from a broad differentiation strategy to a focused differentiation strategy.

Explanation:

Some of the major attributes or objectives behind commercial mergers and acquisitions commonly include expansion of market share or customer base through tapping into new markets(both geographically and new product based) and adopting product or service differentiation by combining business operations, invent more cost effective production processes or methods and gain access to new and improved technological resources and inputs.Hence, one of the important objectives of any commercial merger or acquisition is actually to enhance market share of the company or business organisation through diversified product differentiation and not on any focused differentiation strategy which can potentially cover a relatively wider consumer base.
