A farmer has a herd of sheep with an average weight of 200 pounds. The heaviest sheep weigh around 350 pounds. He wants to know

if the weight of the sheep is genetic. So, he breeds two of his heaviest sheep. The offspring grow up to weigh 300 pounds.

Through this breeding, the farmer is able to support his claim that the large size of some of the sheep may be genetic. This is due to the fact that when the farmer bred the sheep, the offspring was far larger than the average sheep in the farmer's herd. 
A genetic trait is one that is passed down from parent to offspring, while one acquired by the organism through its environment is not passed to its offspring.

The filtration barrier comprises of the glomerular capillaries fenestrated endothelium, the filtration slits of the podocytes, and the fused basal lamina of the podocytes and the endothelial cells. The barrier allows the entry of water, small molecules, and ions from the bloodstream into the space of Bowman capsule.  

The barrier restricts passing of negatively charged and/or large proteins like albumin. The basal lamina of the filtration barrier comprises three layers. Any small molecules like glucose, water, salt, urea, and amino acids can pass freely into the Bowman's space, however, the cells, large proteins, and platelets do not.

  • For the organism to function properly, energy conservation is crucial. Gluconeogenesis is suppressed when there is an abundance of energy available.

Therefore, gluconeogenesis conserve more energy.

Consequently, it usually is seen in young, weaned, growing pigs in which there is a deficiency, an imbalance, or a failure of utilization of calcium, phosphorous or vitamin D. Rickets usually is caused by a dietary deficiency of vitamin D or phosphorus. And Osteoporosis a medical condition in which the bones become brittle and fragile from loss of tissue, typically as a result of hormonal changes, or deficiency of calcium or vitamin D. More than 10 million Americans have osteoporosis, but most do not realize that they have it.

One of the big differences is one occurs mostly to pigs and the other effects adults.Another difference is one occurs while the bones are growing and the other happens after the bones are already grown. I hope this helps!!!
