This also brings about other problems such as air pollution, lack of services in many parts of larger cities, rural immigration to urban cities in searching for better living conditions, rise or crime, among others. Overcrowded areas in places like Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, or abroad such as Mexico City, Beijing, Tokyo, and Buenos Aires, Argentina, are clear examples of overcrowded places.
I don’t know if this is right but as someone who is native I’m going to guess during conversion of religion. Again I don’t know if that’s the main one they want but it was a contributing factor. :)
