The reason for that is that the US for example is a country made up of people of all sorts of ethnic backgrounds. China has numerous regions where there are other groups of people, but in all of them it is Han Chinese that are majority. In Russia, most of the autonomous regions that have majority of other people groups will not be able to survive on their own.
