How to turn standard form into intercept form

Mathematics
1 answer:
Kamila [148]3 years ago
6 0

ABOUT STANDARD FORM:

  • Ax + By = C
  • A & B & C are integers
  • A & B are both non -zero
  • This form is good to use when wanting to find the x & y intercepts of a line

ABOUT SLOPE INTERCEPT FORM:

  • y = mx + b
  • m is the slope
  • b is the y-intercept

EXAMPLE:

  • You have to isolate y

4y - 2x = 8 --- Standard Form

     +2x   +2x

<u>4y = 2x + 8</u>

4           4

y = 1/2 + 2 --- Slope Intercept Form

Hope this info helps you!!! If you are inneed for another example, you can ask!!! :)

A sports apparel company surveyed the market about the size of T-shirts people most frequently buy: small, medium, large, or ext
goblinko [34]
First off we need to find the denomonator:
11+37+83+19=150

Okay so our probability of getting a small size of a t-shirt will be 11/150
They sold 45,000
That's where we need to change our denominator to get how many shirts were small

45,000÷150=300
300×11=3,300
I multiplied 11 because of the numerator

So our answer is B. 3300

F(x)=x2 what is g(x)?
Oksi-84 [34.3K]

g(x) = (1/4)x^2 . correct option C) .

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

Here we have , f(x)=x^2  and we need to find g(x) from the graph . Let's find out:

We have ,  f(x)=x^2   . From the graph we can see that g(x) is passing through point (2,1 ) . Let's substitute this point in all of the four options !

A . g(x) = (1/4x)^2

Putting (2,1) in equation g(x) = (x/4)^2 , we get :

⇒ g(2)= (\frac{2}{4} )^2

⇒ 1\neq \frac{1}{4}

Hence , wrong equation !

B . g(x) = 4x^2

Putting (2,1) in equation g(x) = 4x^2 , we get :

⇒ g(2)=4(2)^2

⇒ 1\neq 64

Hence , wrong equation !

C . g(x) = (1/4)x^2

Putting (2,1) in equation g(x) = (1/4)x^2 , we get :

⇒ g(2)= (\frac{1}{4} )2^2

⇒ 1= 1

Hence , right equation !

D . g(x) = (1/2)x^2

Putting (2,1) in equation g(x) = (1/2)x^2 , we get :

⇒ g(2)= (\frac{1}{2} )2^2

⇒ 1\neq 2

Hence , wrong equation !

Therefore , g(x) = (1/4)x^2 . correct option C) .
