Answer:

The GIS is a very important mapmaking tool for geographers.

Explanation:

  • A geographical information system is a system to capture, store data that is used for further processing and it displays different types of map layer, raster, and vector data forms, and various data sets, frames, and metadata, etc.
  • Colors represent symbolism and areas in red color represent vegetation as seen in false color.
  • Dot density is represented by the map scale and it shows the number of dots for distribution of population in the area.
  • Zooming in and out of the map layer changes area showing on the map as it becomes a large scale for a small scale and visa versa hence it affects the information shown on the map.
  • Zooming in on the manhattan Islands we can see cities and major roads more clearly and it gives us more details.
  • There are areas in and around manhattan that have a lower density of the population of which belong to the senior residents and are at the Washington heights, and hamilton heights.

As a wave nears the shore, its characteristics begin to change when the water depth is half of its _____.
Kryger [21]

The answer is - wavelength.

As the wave approaches the shore and it reaches shallow waters it's characteristics start to change. When the wavelength is half of the water depth than the bottom of the wave starts to drag on the ocean floor. As it starts to do this the wave starts to slow down at it bottom as it approaches the beach but the upper part of the wave maintains its initial speed. Because of this the wave becomes longer. Once it reaches the shore it crashes on it and falls apart.

diamong [38]

Answer:

The Hawaiian Islands are associated with what type of volcanism? intraplate volcanism volcanism at a divergent plate boundary su
tangare [24]

The correct answer is - intraplate volcanism.

The Hawaiian Islands are volcanic islands, thus islands that have been created by volcanic activity. Unlike most of the volcanic islands, or most of the volcanoes, they are not related to any type of volcanism asociated with plate boundary. These islands are in fact associated with intraplate volcanism.

The intraplate volcanism, unlike the other volcanisms, appears inside the plate, not on the boundary of it. The other, more common name, used for this volcanism is hot spot volcanism. This type of volcanic activity appears on places where there's a hot spot, so even though the plate is on top of it, it manages to penetrate through it, and create volcanoes on the surface.
