Answer: A) lying about where he lives

Explanation: In Nethergrave Jeremy creates an obstacle to dating the girl he likes by

a) lying about where he lives

b) lying about his poor health

c) lying about his father's wealth

d) lying about his computer expertise

Nethergrave is a short story with a science fiction theme about the impact of science and technology on the world. It speaks about Jeremy, the school he goes to, how he is viewed by other students at the school, about his current problem with having to play in a football game, and how he finally takes the field etc.

Jeremy is treated poorly and bullied by his classmates/teammates, making him timid and spending time with his online friends as a recourse. When they chat, he lies to all of them about his day and he worries about how they view him—he struggles with self-confidence and self-esteem. He also lied to the the girl he likes which created an obstacle to their dating. This he did by lying about where he lived. He claimed to live in Ohio whereas it was Pasadena in California, a very much closer to Oregon, where PrincessDie lives.

Read the sentence.
bonufazy [111]

Answer:

The helping verbs in the sentence above are the following ones: Should and have.

Explanation:

Helping verbs help the main verb in a sentence by extending its meaning. They can also add details to show how time is to be regarded. In other words, they are needed to make up the structure of the sentence. Modal and auxiliary verbs can be used as helping verbs.

In the case of modal verbs, they further modify the action or meaning of the main verb. In this case, the modal used is "should".  As regards auxiliary verbs, it can be said that they are used to express tense or to add emphasis. In this case, the auxiliary verb "have" has been used to express tense.
