A = 1/2(b1 +b2) h
Where b1 = 10 in, b2 = 10 + 5 = 15 in and h = 8 in

A = 1/2(10 + 15)(8)
A = 1/2 (25) (8)
A = 100

Answer
A = 100 in^2

Hope it helps.

A shirt that normally sells to 28.00 before discount was priced at 22.95 after discount . What is the price saved
Katena32 [7]

Answer:

5.05

Step-by-step explanation:

We have to find the discount price or discount difference and it will be our answer how much money was saved.

Instead of discount (in order to observe the problem simply), we can use first and second price.

The first price is 28 and the second price is 22.95

The difference is the amount of saved money

28 - 22.95 = 5.05

What is the vertex of the function x2 - 6x + 8 = 0?
RUDIKE [14]

<u>Answer: </u>

The vertex of the function \bold{x^{2} -6 x + 8 = 0}is (h,k) = (3 , -1)

<u>Solution: </u>

The vertex form of quadratic equation is generally given as,

f(x) = a(x - h)^{2} + k

Where h,k is the vertex of the parabola.

From question, given that x^{2}-6 x+8=0 .

we have to find the vertex of the function.

Let us first convert the given quadratic equation to vertex form (eqn 1)

x^{2}-6 x+8=0

x^{2}-6 x=-8

By adding “9” on both sides of equation, we get

x^{2}-6 x+9=-8+9

x^{2}-6 x+9=1

By using the identity (a-b)^{2}=a^{2}-2 a b+b^{2} ,the right hand side of above equation becomes,

(x-3)^{2}=1

(x-3)^{2}-1=0

Now,the equation (x-3)^{2}-1=0 is of the vertex form.

By comparing (x-3)^{2}-1=0 with a(x-h)^{2}+k

we get the values of (h,k)

a = 1; h = 3; k = -1

hence the vertex of the function x^{2}-6 x+8=0 is (h,k) = (3 , -1)

QveST [7]
Volume = base area x height
360 = base area x 10
base area = 360 ÷ 10
base area = 36 in²

Possible dimensions :
