There exist a variety of different methods and approaches to solving this problem.

In my opinion, the easiest is to remember the definiton of slope, which is the change in the y-values of the line divided by the change in the x-values of the line.  In other words, the slope can be represented by the rise divided by the run.

Using the graph, we can find two points (any two points will give you the same answer). I’m going to choose (2,3) and (4,4).

Let’s plug the ordered pairs into our slope formula:

m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) = (4-3)/(4-2) = 1/2

Therefore, the slope is 1/2.
