What are the
effect of wind on temperature of a place.
Alinara [238K]

Explanation:

Effects of Wind

on forecasted temperatures

At night, the earth's surface cools by radiating heat off to space. The strongest cooling takes place right near the surface while temperatures at roughly 3000 feet are actually warmer than those at the surface. On a windy night, some of the warmer air aloft is mixed down towards the surface. This occurs because the winds are faster aloft than at the surface.

To visualize this, place one hand over the other about six inches apart. The bottom hand represents the air near the surface and the top hand represents the warmer wind higher up. Move the bottom hand slowly and the upper hand faster (to indicate the faster winds aloft). The faster air above and slower air below causes the air to overturn or spin (as in the picture below). This overturning motion is how warmer air from above is transported downward on windy nights.

What can Benito conclude about the effects of Florida's elevation on its climate? Florida typically experiences cold temperature
Nuetrik [128]

Answer: Florida typically experiences warm temperatures and temperature changes within a narrow range.

Question

Benito is doing research on the effects of Florida's elevation on its climate. His notes include the following:

1. The average elevation of Florida is 30 m above sea level.

2. The highest point in Florida is Britton Hill, which is 105 m above sea level.

3. The change in temperature from 0 m to 1,000 m is 7 °C.

Explanation: The low elevation of the area suggests a warm temperature, The higher you go, the cooler it gets. Also Benito observed that the change in temperature from 0 m to 1,000 m is 7 °C. This shows that there a narrow range in the temperature across Florida.

In addition, Florida is a coastal area. Coastal areas experience mild climates with warm summers, cool but not harsh winters and lots of rainfall. The reason for the warm weather in coastal area is the difference in the time it takes the land and the sea to absorb heat. Air from the sea then cools the land during the day and at night, cool air flows to the sea.
