The coriolis effect ______ in magnitude with decreasing wind speed, and _______ in magnitude as you move towards the equator.
Nastasia [14]

The Coriolis effect decreases in magnitude with decreasing wind speed and decreases in magnitude as you move towards the equator.

The Coriolis force increases with increasing latitude and increasing wind speed. It only affects wind direction, not wind speed.

The Coriolis force increases with increasing wind speed. The Coriolis force acts perpendicular to the direction of travel (to the right of the wind in the northern hemisphere), so it cannot change wind speed.

The Coriolis effect is caused by the rotation of the Earth. In the northern hemisphere, moving objects tend to bend to the right of their intended path. In the Southern Hemisphere, moving objects tend to bend to the left of their intended path. The Coriolis effect tends to increase or decrease the speed of moving objects.

20. Which of the following is not a consequence of using nuclear energy?
vichka [17]

Answer:

d.

Explanation:

Nuclear energy can create a safer environment for humans.

It can produce electricity.

It releases less radioactivity into the atmosphere than burning coal.

However I found nothing on if it reduces the use of fossil fuels, but in the future it could replace them alongside possibly renewable energy, so take the answer piece of cake.

Why do temperatures in deserts drop so much at night after being so high during the day?
umka21 [38]
Because of the shadow, it chills the place down, it's not facing the Sun, matter of fact its the farthest from the Sun, because the Earth is tilted and deserts tend to be on equator where the Earth gets the most sunlight.
