Of the students in your class, 12% are left-handed. What fraction of the students are left-handed? Are there more right-handed o
lions [1.4K]
In percentage, 100% is the basis. 12% is 12/100 or simplified to 6/50

100% - 12% = 88% of the students in class are right handed.

Assuming the number of students in class is 100. Then, 12% of the class is 12 and 88% of the class is 88.

Comparing 12% and 88% it is clear that there are more right-handed students in class than there are left-handed students.

Chegg in order to determine how many hours per week freshmen college students watch television, a random sample of 256 students
kotegsom [21]
The confidence interval is given by
14\pm0.392 or (13.608,14.392).

We first calculate the z-score associated with this level of confidence:
Convert 95% to a decimal:  95% = 95/100 = 0.95
Subtract from 1:  1-0.95 = 0.05
Divide by 2:  0.05/2 = 0.025
Subtract from 1:  1-0.025 = 0.975

Using a z-table (http://www.z-table.com) we see that this value has a z-score of 1.96.

The formula for the confidence interval is
\overline{x}\pm z*\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}
\\
\\14\pm 1.96*(\frac{3.2}{\sqrt{256}})=14\pm 1.96*(\frac{3.2}{16})=14\pm 0.392

The data set represents the number of miles Mary jogged each day for the past nine days.6, 7, 5, 0, 6, 12, 8, 6, 9
djverab [1.8K]
If your trying to find the mean(average) median and mode then first you have to put the numbers in order: 0, 5, 6, 6, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12. To find the mode it's the number that repeats most which in this case is 6. The median is the middle number which in this case is also 6. And the mean or average is found by adding all the numbers and dividing the sum by the amount of numbers which in this case is 9. So when you add all the numbers you should get 59. Then when you divide 59 by 9 you get 6.55555556 and once you round that you get about 6.5 or 6 and a half miles is the average Mary jogged in those 9 days.
