Find the equation of the circle that has a diameter with endpoints located at (-3,6) and (9,6)

Answer:

The equation of the circle is:

(x-3)^2+(y-6)^2=36

Step-by-step explanation:

Notice that the points at the two extremes of the diameter they give you are both located along the line y=6, and are separated by each other the distance given by: 9-(-3) = 12. So the diameter of the circle is 12 units, and then its radius is half of that: 6 units. (r = 6).

Now the center of the circle must be located also on the line y=6, and its x position must be that of the equidistant point to the two extremes. that is: x center = 9-6 = 3

Then the center of the circle is at the point (3,6) in the plane.and its radius is r=6. With this info, we can use the standard equation for a circle of radius r and center (x_0,y_0):

(x-x_0)^2+(y-y_0)^2=r^2\\(x-3)^2+(y-6)^2=6^2\\(x-3)^2+(y-6)^2=36

Easiest way is if you substitute each point (x,y) into each set of equations and both points work for both equations in the system of equations, then it is the correct answer

Otherwise substitute one equation for y in the other equation:
2x + 6 = x^2 + 5x + 6
-2x - 6. -2x -6
0 = x^2 + 3x. Factor
0 = x (x + 3)
Solve: x = 0. x + 3 = 0. ——> x = -3. Substitute into one original equation to get y value for
y = 2x + 6.
y = 2(0) + 6. y = 2(-3) + 6
y = 6. y = -6 + 6 —-> y = 0
(0 , 6) And. (-3 , 0)

What is the common ratio in this geometric series?
Lerok [7]
For a geometric sequence or geometric series, the common ratio is the ratio of a term to the previous term. This ratio is usually indicated by the variable r. Example: The geometric series 3, 6, 12, 24, 48, . . . has common ratio r = 2.

Anika [276]

Answer:

0.1 for each case

Step-by-step explanation:

Because Jordan's teacher randomly calls on students and Jordan has 10% chance of being called on any given day, the probability that on the first day Jordan is called on is 0.1 Besides, the probability remains constant on any given day, so, the probability  that on the 2nd day Jordan is called on is 0.1 and for the 5th day is the same 0.1 Probability is always a number between 0 and 1.
