Answer:

1375 cubic units.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let r_1, h_1 and V_1 be radius, height and volume of our large cylinder respectively. Let r_2, h_2 and V_2 be radius, height and volume of our small cylinder respectively.

We have been given that both our given cylinders in graph are similar, therefore, the ratios between their radius, height and volume will be same.

\frac{r_1}{h_1} =\frac{r_2}{h_2}

We can also represent this relation as:

\frac{h_1}{h_2} =\frac{r_1}{r_2}

Since corresponding sides of similar figures are always in the same proportion, so the proportion between volume of our cylinders also will be same.

\frac{V_1}{V_2} =\frac{\pi (r_1)^{2} h_1}{\pi(r_2)^{2}h_2}

Upon cancelling out pi from numerator and denominator we will get,

\frac{V_1}{V_2} =\frac{(r_1)^{2} h_1}{(r_2)^{2}h_2}

Upon using the relation \frac{h_1}{h_2} =\frac{r_1}{r_2}   in volume proportion we will get,

\frac{V_1}{V_2} =\frac{(r_1)^{2}\times r_1}{(r_2)^{2}\times r_2}

\frac{V_1}{V_2} =\frac{(r_1)^{3} }{(r_2)^{3}}

Upon substituting our given values in this proportion we will get,

\frac{V_1}{88} =\frac{(5)^{3} }{(2)^{3}}

\frac{V_1}{88} =\frac{125}{8}

V_1 =\frac{125}{8}\times 88

V_1 =125\times 11

V_1=1375

Therefore, the volume of large cylinder will be 1375 cubic units.

As above, Height of Cylinder haven't given, let the height be h,

Volume of Cylinder = πr²h

taking π as 3.14 (It will be easier)

= πr²h
= 3.14 \times  {5}^{2}  \times h \\   = \frac{314}{100}  \times 25 \times h \\  =  \frac{314}{4}  \times h \\  = 78.5h
Volume of Cylinder is 78.5h

If
Nitella [24]

Since profit can't be negative, the production level that'll maximize profit is approximately equal to 220.

<h3>How to find the production level that'll maximize profit?</h3>

The cost function, C(x) is given by 12000 + 400x − 2.6x² + 0.004x³ while the demand function, P(x) is given by 1600 − 8x.

Next, we would differentiate the cost function, C(x) to derive the marginal cost:

C(x) = 12000 + 400x − 2.6x² + 0.004x³

C'(x) = 400 − 5.2x + 0.012x².

Also, revenue, R(x) = x × P(x)

Revenue, R(x) = x(1600 − 8x)

Revenue, R(x) = 1600x − 8x²

Next, we would differentiate the revenue function to derive the marginal revenue:

R'(x) = 1600 - 8x

At maximum profit, the marginal revenue is equal to the marginal cost:

1600 - 8x = 400 − 5.2x + 0.012x

1600 - 8x - 400 + 5.2x - 0.012x² = 0

1200 - 2.8x - 0.012x² = 0

0.012x² + 2.8x - 1200 = 0

Solving by using the quadratic equation, we have:

x = 220.40 or x = -453.73.

Since profit can't be negative, the production level that'll maximize profit is approximately equal to 220.
