It is "strip mining" that is blamed for much of the rapid drying of the Aral Sea. That is because this type of minding can take place at sea with little-to-no regard for the sea bottom and its inhabitants.

What events led to the revoloutionary war?
Alchen [17]

Answer:

Several factors summed up to produce the outbreak of the Revolutionay War. Many grievances and resentments accumulated for decades before the explosion.

Heavy and burdensome taxation after the end of the French Indian War was a motive of deep discontent in the colonies; the British crown has highly indebted after the war and levied taxes on the colonies. Together with the high taxes they were asked to pay, colonists bitterly complained about lacking political representation in Parliament; "taxation without representation" was a popular complaint in those times.

The use of local land properties and buildings of colonists as barracks if necessary by the British troops, often without consent given the laws, incensed colonists. And there was harsh treatment by soldiers and officers. These wer abuses of power.

Lastly, trade restrictions imposed by the crown policies also made colonists resentful, they wanted more opportunities of global trade.

This is an excerpt from an eighth-grade history textbook:
yKpoI14uk [10]

The correct answer is D) The 1893 Columbian Exposition was very popular.

The statement that best represents the main idea of this source is "The 1893 Columbian Exposition was very popular."

This is the correct answer because the excerpt tries to convey the idea that despite the United States was a young nation with a population of just 65 million people, the 1893 Columbian Exposition attracted 27 million people from all over the world, a fact that made the exhibition to be a very popular one.

This meant that although a young nation, the United States generated great expectations in different parts of the world to know its culture, customs, political and economic advances, and social organization.

How did rutherford contribute to the atomic theory?
stira [4]
Ernest Rutherford contributed to the atomic theory by discovering that the atom is mostly empty space.

He can to that conclusion because he fired alpha particles at gold foil, which was so thin that it was only around .00004 cm thick, and while almost all shot straight through, some actually bounced back!

He likened it to shooting a 15-inch round(bullet) at tissue paper, only to have it bounce right back at you! Based on this, he theorized that the atom is mostly empty, which is why a majority of the particles passed right through, but in the very center of the atom there is a super-dense structure called a nucleus that held a majority of the atom's mass. This super-dense mass would be more than massive enough to deflect the particle, should they collide.
