Attachments will cause you to seek approval from others instead of giving it to yourself. we choose attachments over anything because most of us was others to like us more than we want to like ourselves. We should stride to be authentic to ourselves but it's not so easy we are wired to seek approval. I think a good balance would be making sure we love ourselves before we put everything into another person.
