After 401 flyers Company A has a better deal.

First it's important to note that, at 400 flyers they are equal.
39.99+0.5x=0.6x
-0.5x. -0.5x
39.99=0.1x
multiply both sides by ten
399.9=x
there can't be .9 flyers so round up to four hundred.
so, go one up (the easiest way to find which is larger after the part where they are equal) sorry this probably makes no sense... but
this is algebra. if this is to complex, try graph it. just use the cost for flyers as the x axis and the design as the initial cost so the y intercept.
but if u want to do it as an equation, just plug in 401 to both equations.
here are the equations I used from above:
company A- 39.99+0.5x
company B- 0.6x
I used a calculator for this part because it's easier. the second one had more. it was 240.6 for 401 flyers for the second one, and 240.49 for 401 flyers for the first. So... company A is actually cheaper at 401 and the more you purchase the better the deal will be compared to B.
I'm sorry if I explained that badly. just use a graph. lol

Whats the cost of each vegetable if 5 squash and 2 zucchini is $1.32
alex41 [277]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

We first need to define a couple of variables.  Let s = the cost of 1 squash and z = the cost of 1 zucchini.

Now lets translate the words into algebra:

"The cost of 5 squash and 2 zucchini is $1.32"  ===>  5s  +  2z  =  1.32

"Three squash and 1 zucchini cost $0.75"  ===>   3s  +  z  =  0.75

There are several ways to solve systems of equations.  Let's use substitution.  We can find what z equals in terms of s by manipulating the second equation:

 3s  +   z   =   0.75

-3s                 -3s

------------     -------------

           z    =  -3s  +0.75

Now lets substitute (-3s + 0.75) into the first equation for z, then solve for s:

 5s + 2(-3s + 0.75) = 1.32

Can you handle it from here?

(Hint: Once you have solved for s, you can substitute that value back into either of the equations and solve for z.)

Calculate the rate of change of the linear function that contains the points
Mandarinka [93]

Answer:

-2

Step-by-step explanation:

X1 Y1 X2 Y2

(-15, 30) (7, -14)

Y2-Y1 = -14-30 = -44 = -2

Does the following represent direct variation? If yes, find the constant variation
svlad2 [7]

y/x =k

13/9 = 1.4444444

39/27=1.4444444

104/72=1.4444444

k =13/9  = 1 4/9

this is direct variation with a constant of 13/9 or 1  4/9

Find the value of x that satisfies the equation 0.75x - 25 = 35.
Schach [20]

Answer:

80

Step-by-step explanation:

0

0.75x - 25 = 35 \\ 0.75 x = 35 + 25 \\ 0.75 x = 60 \\ x =  \frac{60}{0.75}  \\ x =  \frac{60 \times 100}{75}  \\ x = 4 \times 20 \\ x = 80

plz...
