First you find the LCM of your denominater...
in this case 6 and 12, so the LCM is 12
then you need to make the denominator number to match your LCM
at 1/6 your denominator is 6 so you need to multiply it by 2 to become 12 but remember if you multiply your denominator you must also do the same with you numerator... so your fraction 1/6 both the numerator and denominator must multiply with 2... then we get 2/12
at 5/12 you denominator already matched the LCM so we not need to multiply it...
thats it... hope you understand... :)

When you find the common denominator, multiply the numerator by the same number you do the denominator.

5:  1/6 - multiply both the numerator and denominator by 2: 1*2/2*6 = 2/12

2/12 < 5/12

6:

LCM would be 33

2/3 = 2*11 / 3*11 = 22/33

8/11 = 8*3 / 11*3 = 24/33

22/33 < 24/33

Fiesta28 [93]

So you would take the 360 cm and divide it by 2.5 cm or 1 inch to see how many inches the ceiling is.

360÷2.5= 144 inches

Solve the system of equations.
Orlov [11]

Answer:

x=-1, y = 2, z = 1

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given with three equations and we are asked to find the solution to them.

2x + 2y + 3z = 5  ------------- (A)

6x + 3y + 6z = 6  --------------(B)

3x + 4y + 4z = 9 ---------------(C)

Step 1 .

multiplying equation (A) by 3 and subtracting B from the result

6x + 6y + 9z = 15

6x + 3y + 6z = 6

-     -       -       = -

_______________

3y+3z=9

y+z=3

y=3-z  ----------------- (C)

Step 2.

Substituting this value of y in equation B and C

6x + 3(3-z) + 6z = 6

6x+9-3z+6z=6

6x+3z=-3

2x+z=-1 ----------------(D)

3x + 4(3-z) + 4z = 9

3x+12-4z+4z=9

3x=-3

x=-1 ------------ (E)

Putting this value f x in (D)

2(-1)+z=-1

-2+z=-1

z=1

Now we put this value of z in equation (C)

y=3-z

y=3-1

y=2

Hence we have

x=-1, y=2 and z=1
