Answer:

d. they were found not guilty of his murder

Explanation:

Emmett Louis Till was an African American who was born in Chicago Illinois on the 25th of July 1941. He was also raised in Chicago. Emmett Till in August 1955, went visiting relatives in Mississippi where he had an encounter with a white woman at a grocery store named Carolyn Bryant.

Carolyn Bryant accused Emmett of making sexual advances towards her and whistling at her in court. The testimony of Emmett Till was not allowed in the court as it was made inadmissible by the Judge. Days after the incident her husband Roy Bryant and her brother-in-law J.W. Milam kidnapped Emmett Till and lynched him by beating , mutilating and shooting him in the head. They later drown his body at Tallahatchie river.

Three days later, Emmett's body was found and his mother insisted on an open casket burial for her son. Roy Bryant and J.W. Milam were charged to court for the murder of Emmett Till but an All men Jury found them not guilty of the crime, and they were discharged and acquitted.

Years later the brothers Roy Bryant and J.W. Milam admitted in an interview in 1956 that they killed Emmett Till and Carolyn Bryant changed or recanted her story , saying Emmett was innocent and she accused him falsely.

Emmett Till after his murder and death became the one of faces of Civil Right Movement in America.
