Sister Blandina had saved a friend of Billy the Kid. When Billy the Kid wanted to scalp four doctors for not treating him, Sister Blandina asked Billy to do her a favor, which, because of their friendship, he agreed to before he knew she wanted. She asked him to spare the doctors so he left town without hurting them.

Billy the Kid had a great respect for Sister Blandina. He was coming to town to kill the 4 doctors who refused to help his friend after he had been shot. It was Sister Blandina who nursed Billy the Kids friend back to health and he was very grateful. Sister Blandina asked him to spare the lives of the 4 doctors, which he granted.

<span>The Battle being described is the Battle of Gettysburg. It was the turning point in the Civil War. General Robert E. Lee was marching his troops toward the Susquehanna River Pennsylvania. He planned to launch a massive attack on the North that would crush their spirit. On July 1st, 1863 he crossed the Potomac and engaged in battle with General George G. Meade in the largest battle of the Civil War with 165,000 soldiers fighting on the field of battle. They fought near the town of Gettysburg for three days. The Battle ended on July 3rd with Pickett's charge. In November of 1963, Lincoln delivered his famous Gettysburg Address, dedicating the Gettysburg Soldiers Cemetery. What was the penalty for desertion
jolli1 [7]
Its considered AWOL and punished by jail time. Technically, the maximum U.S. penalty for desertion in wartime remains death, although it hasn't happened since 1945. No US serviceman has received more than 18 months imprisonment for desertion or missing movement during the Iraq war. You will either get nonjudicial punishment or court martial.
