You need to be understanding,to one another to have a steady connection.You need to be able to feel what other people are feeling. That is a part of being a good friend.

Someone who can't understand is looked as they don't care but it's usually not the case
but this occurs to many people.

Being understood gives the person a sense that someone is listening and can relate with one another.

Like the two words.
Sympathy and Empathy

Sympathy: You can relate with them because it has happened to you.

Empathy: You can't relate with them but you can understand.
