Answer: 1. The moon is about the same age as Earth

2. The moon lacks a sizable iron core

3. Galaxies

4. Hydrogen and helium gas

5. Venus

Explanation: 1. The Moon is about 4.53 billion years while The Earth is about 4.543 billion years. Therefore, both The Moon and The Earth are about the same age.

2. The giant impact hypothesis suggests that the Moon formed out of the debris left over from a collision between Earth and an astronomical body the size of Mars, approximately 4.5 billion years ago, in the Hadean eon. It has 7 pieces of evidence and one is that "The Moon has a relatively small iron core".

3. The solar system comprises of The Sun, Stars, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune (major planet), dwarf planets ( including Pluto), moons, asteroid, comets, meteoroids.

Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars are the terrestrial planets ( inner planets closest to The Sun). Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune are Jovian planets.

The solar system is rather found in of the galaxies (The Milky Way).

4. Jovian planets are made of gas or ice. Helium and hydrogen are gases and they are the main components found in them.

5. Venus is the hottest planet even though it is the second closest to the sun. The temperature is about 464ºC.

It is expected that Mercury should be the hottest due to it is the closest but it doesn't have any atmosphere, and atmosphere helps to hold and trap heat. Hence, the heat in Mercury is quickly lost into space. While Venus has a thick atmosphere and it is able to absorb all the heat from the Sun.

Please help me. I will make it worth your while by giving brainliest answer and 50 points. no BS You will be writing a 5-7 parag
Natali5045456 [20]

Answer:

Explanation: Dear Sirs:

I am writing today to urge you as strongly as possible to stop your deforestation program in the rain forest there in South America. Although for you the objective is financial gain, for the rest of us it is the destruction of land, habitats, people and eventually, the Earth.

Deforestation is a process where large areas of forests are cut down to be used for farming, grazing land for cattle, and housing. This is especially true inn the South American rain forest where you are working. These are not necessarily bad things, but the effects of deforestation are devastating. Deforestation is achieved by cutting or burning of trees from a widespread area. Why does this matter?

When deforestation occurs in an area, animals and plants are forced to move from their natural habitat. For many of these species they are unable to survive in new forced into areas. When the trees are cut down, the stumps are then burned to release nutrients into the soil to enrich it for farming. This is called, "slash and burn." However because of the heavy rains, and no tree roots to hold the soil, the nutrients are washed away and soon the farmers must move to a new area, and start the process all over.

Further, deforestation can cause climate change. Obviously without the trees available to capture the Greenhouse gases, like carbon dioxide, stopping the gases from accumulating in the atmosphere and warming our planet. Climate change is a real issue that must be addressed if our planet is to survive.

With all of these problems, what are the benefits? Who wins? Who loses? The benefits are to your company who now have a large tract of freshly cleared land that can be used for farming, cattle grazing, logging or housing. As always the almighty dollar comes to the forefront. The losers are the plants, animals and indigenous people who live in that area. Forced to relocate, many of all the groups will not survive. With the increased use of deforestation, the benefits are far outweighed by the cost- our planet Earth.

What are the alternatives to land desertification?  There are better and more innovative ways to grow food and clear land, one of which is sustainable land management. It is a process to prevent, minimize, or reverse land degradation. There are organizations worldwide that will help you to find better solutions than deforestation to reduce carbon pollution, to safeguard arable land, repair degradable land and to manage water supplies more effectively.

In closing, I strongly urge you to reconsider what you are doing in an area that can ill afford any more destruction. Why does it matter? Perhaps it doesn't to us in 2020, but to our children's children it will matter greatly if climate change destroys the Earth.

Economic consequences of removing dams
g100num [7]
The U.S. has more than 87,000 dams greater than six feet high (and two million overall). While many dams continue to provide benefits such as flood control, irrigation, and water supply, for other dams the cost of maintenance or the negative effects on communities, fish, and tribes justifies their removal.
Dam owners and regulators decide whether to remove a dam by weighing many factors including: the cost of removal and the ability to replace any lost power generation against avoided long-term maintenance; safety concerns; benefits to endangered fish populations; increased recreational and commercial fishing; and restoration of cultural values of nearby tribes.
By 2020, roughly 70% of dams will be more than 50 years old, inviting us to reconsider the value to the public of long-term investments in this infrastructure.

What would happen if earth's axis were not tilted?
Nimfa-mama [501]

Answer:

If Earth's axis was not tilted then the climate zones would change, there would be no seasons, and the day and night will last the same all year.

Explanation:

Earth's axis is tilted, and with it circling around the Sun, there a great effects on the planet's surface, from climate, duration of day and night throughout the year, change of seasons, amount of sunlight, etc. But if this was to change and Earth's axis is not tilted, then there will changes in pretty much everything on Earth's surface.

The climate zones will be very clearly separated by latitude, and every climate zone will be more or less monotonous throughout the year, with just minimal changes every now and then. This will happen because the amount of sunlight and the angle under which the sunlight falls will the same at a given place throughout all of the year. The day and night will also be the same, unlike the changes they experience with the tilted axis. To put it simply, the equatorial area will remain pretty much the same, but if we take the temperate zones then they will experience climate like it is always spring or autumn, while the higher latitudes will constantly be frozen and experience winter.
