Answer:

n = -40

Step-by-step explanation:

n/10 = -4

n/10 x 10 = -4 x 10

n = -40

Multiply 10 on the side w/ the variable and do the same on the other side of the equal sign (this is a rule while solving for variables: something you do to one side, you do the same to the other).

Then, you got your answer. Hope I helped <3

C. 4

Look at where segment A'B' intersects, at x = 8.

Look at where segment AB intersects, at x = 2.

AB is smaller then A'B' that means the scale factor is

A'B'/AB=\frac{8}{2}=4.

Hope this helps.

Answer:

440 square inches.

Explanation:

We can consider the boxes as one single shape.

So it's base area is 12×10=120 and the area of the side faces is 20×12=240 and 20×10=200.

Now, there are 2 of each, so let's add up everything and multiply by 2.

(120+240+200)×3=560 square inches.

But we have to take off the base, so:

560-120=440 square inches

One number is one more than a second number. Five times the first is 3 less than 6 times the second. Find the numbers.
TiliK225 [7]

The value of the first number is 9 , and

the value of the second number is 8 .

In the question ,

statements about two numbers is given ,

let the first number be x ,

let the second number be y .

According to the first statement " One number is one more than a second number "

translating it into the equation form , we get

x=y+1      ...(i)

According to the second statement which states " Five times the first is 3 less than 6 times the second "

translating it into the equation form , we get

5*x = 6*y - 3

5x = 6y - 3

Substituting the value of x from equation (i) , we get

5(y+1) = 6y - 3

5y + 5 = 6y - 3

6y-5y = 5+3

y = 8 ,

substituting  y=8 in the the equation (i) ,

x = 8 + 1

x = 9

hence the first number = 9  and the second number = 8 .

Therefore , the value of the first number is  9, and

the value of the second number is 8 .
