Answer:

Rome won the three Punic Wars, but it was in the third one when it finally defeated Carthage.

Explanation:

Punic Wars broke out by the annexation by Rome of the Magna Graecia, in the south of the Italian peninsula, but the main cause of the confrontation between both was the conflict of interests between the colonies of Carthage and the expansion of the Republic of Rome. The first clash occurred on the island of Sicily, partially under Carthaginian control. At the beginning of the first Punic War, Carthage was the dominant power in the western Mediterranean Sea, controlling an extensive maritime empire, while Rome was the emerging power in the center of the Italian peninsula. At the end of the third Punic war, and after decades of conflict, Rome conquered all the Carthaginian possessions and razed the city of Carthage, its capital, with which the Carthaginian faction disappeared from history.

Monk’s Mound in Cahokia is an enormous earthwork very near to the Mississippi River. What do archaeologists believe it was used
Alex Ar [27]
Monks Mound is the largest prehistoric structure in the Americas and the largest pyramid north of Mesoamerica. It covers 16 acres with 4 platforms with ceremonial structure at the top. This makes it approximately the same size at its base as the Great Pyramid of Giza (13.1 acres / 5.3 hectares). Its base circumference is bigger than the Pyramid of the Sun at Teotihuacan. As a platform mound, the earthwork supported a wooden structure on the summit. It’s believed to have been a temple or chief’s residence. Since Mississippian society revolved around the mound network, archaeologists believe that the central, and largest mound would have belonged to a societal leader.
