A team or a group takes time to perform and cooperate well, it does not do so from the time it is formed. The members of the group work together helping and supporting each other to achieve the common goal.
Researcher, Bruce Tuckman layed down five stages of group development process. They are:
Forming stage or orientation.
Storming Stage or power struggle.
Norming Stage or Cooperation and Integration
Performing Stage or Synergy
Adjourning Stage or closure
The main focus during the working phase of the group therapy is to encourage and teach problem solving skills to facilitate behavioral changes.
