The French and Indian War ended in defeat for the French in 1763 and they signed a treaty with Great Britain by which:
- they lost virtually all their possessions in North America
- they lost Louisiana to Spain
When the British received all this new territory, they did not want the colonists in the 13 colonies to move into them so they issued the Proclamation Line of 1763 that prohibited colonists from moving into those areas.
In conclusion, the British received a lot of new territory as a result of the French and Indian War but they prohibited the colonists from moving into it.

The region in which the Maya civilization existed, even though in general had a stable climate throughout the year, occasionally, on every few years, was experiencing a long drought. The droughts in this period of time could have been fatal because they were destroying much of the plants that were providing food for the people, and also lack of freshwater. So the Maya came out with a smart method, they started to build cisterns, and when there was rain the cisterns were filled with water that can be used later on when there's crises for it.
