We are given

Philli Bought apples from the grocery store for $2.20 per pound

In Monday:

price is $2.20 per pound

He bought 2.5 pounds of apples on Monday

so, we can find total money spent

total money spent = ( total quantity)*(price)

so, total money spent on Monday is

=2.20\times 2.5

=5.5$

In Tuesday:

price is $2.20 per pound

He bought 1.2 pounds of apples on Tuesday

so, we can find total money spent

total money spent = ( total quantity)*(price)

so, total money spent on Tuesday is

=2.20\times 1.2

=2.64$

Total money spent on apples =(total money spent on Monday)+(total money spent on Tuesday)

now, we can plug values

Total money spent on apples =5.5+2.64

Total money spent on apples is $8.14...........Answer

Given f(x)=4/5x + 13, find the inverse f-¹(x)<br>Given f(x)= 3/x+10 + 4 find the inverse f-¹(x)
Elodia [21]
  • f-¹(x) = 69/5y
  • f-¹(x) = 13 + 4y/(y + 10)

<h3>How to determine the inverse </h3>

The steps involved in determining the inverse of a function are;

  • Replace f(x) with y in the equation describing the function
  • Interchange x and y
  • Solve for y
  • Replace y by f-1(x)

If f(x) = 4/5x + 13

y = 4/5y + 13

y = 4 + 65 /5y

f^-1 = 4 + 65 /5y

f^-1(x)= 69/5y

If f(x)= 3/x+10 + 4

y = 3/y + 10 + 4

y = 3 + 4y + 10/(y + 10)

y = 13 + 4y/(y + 10)

f^-1(x) = 13 + 4y/(y + 10)

Thus, the inverse of the functions is 69/5y and 13 + 4y/(y + 10)

If cos theta is -5/13 and sin θ &lt; 0, what is tan θ ?
tensa zangetsu [6.8K]
Take the right angled triangle  with sides 13, 12 and 5. sine theta will be 12/13

When sin theta < 0 and cos theta < 0  we are in the  third  quadrant  so sin theta will be -12/13

tan theta = sin theta / cos theta  = -5/13 /  -12/13   = -5*13 / -12*13 =  5/12
